About CivicSeat
The structured, searchable record of what your local government actually does.
What this is
CivicSeat is a structured, searchable record of what local government actually does: every roll-call vote, deferral, and motion of the elected bodies we cover, parsed from the official minutes — with a link back to the source document behind every fact. It is a reference work, not a news site: we publish the record, its arithmetic, and nothing we cannot cite.
Independence
CivicSeat is independently run. It is not affiliated with, funded by, or endorsed by any government, elected official, campaign, or political party. No government or campaign money is accepted. Coverage decisions are made by the maintainers alone, and the same mechanical rules are applied to every official on the record — the site computes counts, never scores or endorsements.
How the record is built
Every page traces to an official source document. The pipeline, its verification gates, the human-review policy, and the corrections process are documented in full on the methodology & corrections page — including exactly where AI assistance is used and how its output is checked. What we cover (and the known gaps) is listed on the coverage page, and every later amendment to a source document appears in record changes.
