Approve COPS 2020 Stop School Violence Grant participation

Consideration of a Resolution of the Commission of Knox County, Tennessee, approving an Agreement with the City of Knoxville for Knox County's participation in a Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) 2020 Stop School Violence Grant in the amount of $464,624.00 which includes a local match of $116,156.00 to enhance the safety of Knox County students through ongoing training, school site safety improvements and technological upgrades was before the Board of Commissioners. Commissioner Durrett moved to R-20-12-206 – Consideration of a Resolution of the Commission of Knox County, Tennessee, approving an Agreement with the City of Knoxville for Knox County's participation in a Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) 2020 Stop School Violence Grant in the amount of $464,624.00 which includes a local match of $116,156.00 to enhance the safety of Knox County students through ongoing training, school site safety improvements and technological upgrades. Commissioner Dailey seconded the motion and upon roll call vote Commissioners Lundy, Durrett, Smith, Ward, Schoonmaker, Hill, Busler, Beeler, Dailey and Jay voted aye. The motion carried 10-0-0-1. Commissioner Biggs was absent from the vote.
