On September 21, 2026, the Knox County, TN Board of Commissioners adopted “Consideration of a Resolution of the Knox County Commission, approving and authorizing a moratorium on data centers in Knox County. Planning Commission Recommendation: Approve a moratorium on data centers in Knox County through June 30, 2027, or until the Knox County Commission adopts new regulations governing the placement and operation of data centers, by a vote of 12-0.
