On July 28, 2020, the City of Knoxville, TN City Council adopted “Request Governor Lee consider posthumous pardon of Maurice Franklin Mays” by a vote of 9–0.

amend the resolution to change the word 'pardon' to 'exonerate' wherever it appears in the resolution
