Resolution supporting incentives for mixed-use residential development for housing needs

A Resolution recognizing the need for additional housing and in support of the use of incentives for mixed-use residential development along City commercial corridors as an additional opportunity to address the need for increased housing.(Requested by Vice Mayor Roberto and Councilmembers Thomas, Parker, and Singh)

On October 17, 2023, the City of Knoxville, TN City Council adopted “Resolution supporting incentives for mixed-use residential development for housing needs” by a vote of 8–0.

Unanimous Adopted 8-0-0-1

Motion to amend the resolution in Section 1 by striking out "inventorying" and inserting “identifying corridor areas with current infrastructure to support infill mixed-use as allowed by the code” in lieu thereof.
