Exempt food sales from local option sales tax increase

An Ordinance to exempt the retail sale of food and food ingredients from the increase in the local option sales tax rate adopted by the City of Knoxville. (Requested by Finance Department)

On June 10, 2025, the City of Knoxville, TN City Council adopted “Exempt food sales from local option sales tax increase” by a vote of 9–0.
