Affirm Council's authority to amend City budget and adopt alternative budget
A Resolution to affirm Council's legislative authority to amend the City budget, including line-item amendment authority, as well as the authority to adopt an alternative budget for the City of Knoxville when a majority of council members reject the budget introduced by the Mayor and adopt a budget ordinance introduced by a member of Council.
On August 5, 2025, “Affirm Council's authority to amend City budget and adopt alternative budget” failed before the City of Knoxville, TN City Council by a vote of 2–5.
