Change Information Systems Department name to Innovation and Technology

An Ordinance of the Council of the City of Knoxville to amend Chapter 2, Article II, Division 9 of the Knoxville City Code, changing the title of the Department from Information Systems to Innovation and Technology in order to better reflect its current duties and scope of work. (Requested by Innovation and Technology Department)

On August 18, 2026, the City of Knoxville, TN City Council adopted “Change Information Systems Department name to Innovation and Technology” by a vote of 7–0.
