Approve ordinance amending County Board of Health advisory role
O-20-12-101 — Consideration of an Ordinance of the Commission of Knox County, Tennessee, amending Knox County Code, Chapter 38, Article II, Division 1, Section 38-33 entitled “County Board of Health” to provide for the Board of Health to serve as an advisory board to the Knox County Health Department. Commissioner Jay moved as a substitute motion to postpone 120 days to the May 2021 Board of Commissioners meeting on first reading O-20-12-101 – Consideration of an Ordinance of the Commission of Knox County, Tennessee, amending Knox County Code, Chapter 38, Article II, Division 1, Section 38-33 entitled “County Board of Health” to provide for the Board of Health to serve as an advisory board to the Knox County Health Department. (Ord. No. O-96-3-102, adopted 4-22-96). Commissioner Durrett seconded the motion and upon roll call vote Commissioners Lundy, Durrett, Hill, and Jay voted aye. The substitute motion failed 4-6-1-0. Commissioners Ward, Schoonmaker, Busler, Beeler, Dailey and Biggs voted no. Commissioner Smith abstained from the vote.
